Hello and welcome! I’m going to assume that as you’ve found this site, you’re interested in some sort of Anime or Manga. Also that you may want to learn how to draw some of the characters. I’m an avid fan myself, even if I’m not an expert at drawing it myself! Just for reference, I think it’s fair to give a quick description on both Anime and Manga. These are both really large groups, so things can differ massively within them. Often it is hard to tell the difference.

Anime

Ok, as I understand it Anime is usually referred to the animated films and series on TV. Sometimes it’s used as a word to mean Manga also. Often they involve fighting; indeed it is the main part of Anime for many productions. Hand drawn pictures are sometimes called Anime; it just depends on who you ask.

Manga

Manga is usually used to refer to the comics and drawn pictures. These tend to exaggerate reality to a large degree. They often have more detail than Anime, because Anime as a moving picture doesn’t need the detail to demonstrate movement for example. Yet, sometimes it has very little detail and often is used to show strong emotions.
